Our next board member spotlight is on our Vice-Chairperson, Diane Huff.

Diane graduated from Dayton High School in 1971. After graduation, she attended Northern Kentucky State College and graduated in December of 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education certified to teach Mathematics. In 1977, she earned a Master's in Education from NKU and later earned her Rank I and certification in School Guidance Counseling from Xavier University. Diane was a middle/high school Mathematics teacher at Dayton High School for 25+ years and transitioned to DHS's guidance counselor her last 10 years. After retirement, Diane was elected to the Dayton Independent School Board where she has served since 2010, most recently as its Vice-Chairperson.

Another spotlight on one of our awesome board members, Julie Cline.

Julie is a 1990 DHS graduate and is the mother of two kids who also graduated from DHS in 2018 and 2025. She has been on the school board since 2021. and has served in various roles in our district over the years including LES site-base and Varsity Cheer Coach for 4 years. She loves to spend time with family and attend sporting events. Julie says, " I am super proud of the opportunities our kids have to be able to learn and thrive outside of the classroom."

Next Board Member Spotlight is Carrie Downard!

Carrie is a 1992 graduate, serving on the school board since 2014. She has been married for 28 years, and is the proud mother of three children, two of whom are Dayton graduates and one who currently attends the middle school. She truly loves being part of this amazing team and school community. Carrie says, "It is an honor to give back to a place that helped shape me and my family."

Lori Peterson is a 1984 graduate of DHS and has served as a board member since 2020. Lori is passionate about learning, enjoys attending Reds baseball games, and loves spending time with her family.

Greendevil Nation – please nominate a fellow Greendevil for induction into the Dayton Schools Wall of Distinction.

The goal of the Wall of Distinction is to honor and recognize former Greendevils who accomplished amazing feats as Greendevils and went on to accomplish amazing feats after HS graduation.

Infinite Campus has completed their updates. The new Parent URL: https://daytonky.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/parents/dayton.jsp and the new Student URL: https://daytonky.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/students/dayton.jsp The Parent and Student APP will continue to work without the need of any changes.

Greendevil Families:

Infinite Campus has scheduled an outage for December 22, 2025 through December 23, 2025 to install updates. During this update, Infinite Campus Parent and Student portals will not be available. Once this update is completed, a new web address link will be provided.

Next week, any family of a Dayton student can come by the Board of Education to pick up a large box of food to help aid in groceries over the winter break.
