AR Readers Moonlight as Santa's Elves!

Students by day.....Elves by night!

The AR students at Lincoln have been spending their spare time helping Santa by working in Santa's Workshop. They are working really hard getting ready for Christmas Eve.

The AR students have been doing lots of different jobs!

The pictures below will show you how hard they have been working!

Decorating the North Pole

Elf Lance, Elf Abby and Elf Makayla are busy decorating one of the many Christmas trees at the North Pole!

Elves like to play and sometimes they take time to have a little fun.

The garland should probably go around the tree!

Elf Jade, Elf Mckenzie and Elf Hannah are also helping with decorating another Christmas tree.

They don't know where the garland should go either!

Elf Joey, Elf Nicholas and Elf Nathan are trying to make sure there are enough Christmas lights.

Don't forget to put the lights where they should go!

Helping Santa

Elf Brittany and Elf Mikayla are really busy helping Santa with his book of who is naughty and who is nice.

They look a little surprised at something that Santa is writing!

Elf Megan is helping Santa with writing letters to boys and girls.

Santa appreciates all the letters that the boys and girls around the world write to him.

Santa wishes he could answer each and every one...but he just doesn't have time.

Technology at the North Pole

Elf Dakota, Elf Nolan, and Elf Ben work at the North Pole Communications Center.

Santa has the newest technology to keep up with everything that is going on in the world.

That includes watching to see who is naughty and who is nice!

Elf Libby is very suprised that Santa has a Smartphone!

Now Santa can use his Smartphone to:

1. Access and use documents, spreadsheets, and databases to keep track of toy inventories and elf work schedules.
2. Access the internet and read his e-mail.
3. Take photographs and edit graphics.
4. Play video games that the elves created.
5. Play Christmas videos and music.
6. Show his coordinates anywhere in the world using GPS and it can be a "sleigh" navigation device in case he gets lost on Christmas Eve because it is too foggy!

Wow!

Making Toys for Girls and Boys

This is the back door of Santa's Workshop. These elves are getting ready to go to work!

Elves love working for Santa and making toys, toys and more toys!

Have fun working....Elf Skylar, Elf Reba, Elf Jyllian, Elf Morgan and Elf Makala!

DOLL SHOP

What would Christmas be without dolls?

Elf Patience, Elf Ciara, and Elf Hannah make dolls for Santa.

Dolls have been around for a long, long time. The earliest known dolls were found in Eqyptian tombs back in 2000 BC. They were made of wood, clay or rags.

Dolls have changed alot since then.

Some popular dolls are Raggety Ann, Barbie, American Girl dolls, paper dolls, Cabbage Patch Kids and Madame Alexander Dolls.

Train Shop

Elf Cara and Elf Jarred are busy making trains and designing train set ups.

Did you know that the first regularly scheduled passenger train first ran on Christmas Day in 1830? That is probably why trains are so poplular at Christmas time.

Elf Haley and Elf Buddy also work in the Train Shop.

Does it look like they are working to you? It looks like they are having alot of fun!

All of the Train Shop Elves love to read "The Polar Express".

Bicycle Shop

Elf Alex, Elf Michelle and Elf Cheyenne are bicycle elves.

They paint the bicycles and put them together. They even add all the extra stuff...like baskets and bells and horns.

Sometimes you will catch them riding around the shop....instead of working!

Bakery and Candy Shop

Elf Corinne works at the North Pole Bakery. She makes lots of delicious food for everyone to eat!

Her favorite is designing and making Gingerbread Houses.

Elf Olivia also works in the Bakery and Candy Shop.

Yum, Yum, Yum!

She likes to make Candy Canes and Gum Drops and of course...Gingerbread Houses.

See her latest Masterpiece!

Rocking Horse Shop

Elf Ciara, Elf Mason and Elf Emma love working here.

The first wooden horses were put on wheels and used with knights to practice jousting.

It wasn't until the 18th century that rocking horses became toys. Britain and Germany led the world in making these wonderful toys for children.

However, P.J. Marqua, an American from Cincinnati, Ohio, changed the design in 1877. He put the bowed rockers on the horse to make it safer.

Lego Shop

Elf Jill, Elf Maddy and Elf Kaley are taking a break!

They work in the Lego shop. Look at all the wonderful colors.

Mr. Christiansen from Denmark made the first Legos in 1949. He called them Interlocking Plastic Blocks!

Mr. Betz, Mr. Clifton and Mr. Chenot said it was their favorite toy when they were young!

Who hasn't played with Legos!

Stuffed Animal Shop

Elf Angel and Elf Keahna are holding up their favorite stuffed animals.

They work at Santa's Workshop designing and making stuffed animals.

Look at the dragon behind them.

What a cool stuffed animal.

I wonder who is going to get that for Christmas!

Games Shop

Elf Ricky and Elf Zachary are taking a break. I think the elves take alot of breaks! It seems they are always eating Candy Canes.

The Games Shop is the busiest shop at the North Pole.

Everybody loves games. Mrs. Christen, Mrs. Barth and Mrs. Young like to play games when all the students go home. Their favorites are "Mousetrap and Candyland"!

Doll House Village Shop

Elf Gabby, Elf Lacy and Elf Scotty design, paint and build wooden doll houses.

They also have to design, build and paint all of the little furniture that goes in the doll houses.

They are very busy! They are not taking a break and eating Candy Canes!

Clock Shop

This is Elf Michael. He doesn't work in the Clock Shop but he wants to work here. He has not been an elf long enough. You have to be an elf for 500 years before you can be a clock elf.

These are the oldest elves at the North Pole. They make all kinds of clocks, Their favorite to make is the big Grandfather Clocks. But they also like to make Cuckoo Clocks! (Some elves think these clock elves are a little cuckoo. )

Until Michael has been an elf for 500 years...he is going to sneak down to the Clock Shop on all his breaks and learn all he can about making clocks.!

Outside Work and Play

Reindeer Duty

Elf Kilee, Elf Paige, and Elf Summer take care of the Reindeer today.

All the elves like Reindeer Duty because they can go outside!

And Reindeer are so cool!

Is this Cupid or Comet???

Elf Tiara and Elf Haley are also on Reindeer Duty. They are feeding Prancer and Dancer.

Santa is feeding the reindeer too! He is feeding them the magical reindeer food that makes them fly. Christmas must be soon!

And Santa is wearing overalls!!!!

We can all tell what Elf Jagger, Elf Isaiah and Elf Dakota are doing.

There's always time to have some fun!

Elves have recess too!

Elf Billy, Elf Justalyn and Elf Logan are also at recess .

They like playing in the snow. They made this snowman!

What fun it is at the North Pole. It has lots of snow to play in.

And you just never know who or what you will run into when you are out exploring the North Pole!

Elf Ashley, Elf Katie and Elf Laurelin ran into this polar animal. This Polar Bear knows to be nice to these elves or Santa won't bring him anything for Christmas!

Other Elf Activites

Wrapping Gifts

Elf Joey, Elf Jadie and Elf McKenzie are wrapping gifts for Santa.

It won't be long until Christmas.

Elf Catherine and Elf Angelika are also wrapping gifts. There are so many gifts to wrap and they are way behind.

It looks like Elf Angelika is wondering what is in this present.

Elf Angelika knows it is for Mrs. Baxter. When she wraps it.. she says she is going to be very creative and artsy with the wrapping!

Reading Time

Santa requires his elves to read 30 minutes everyday.

Elf Tiffany, Elf Kayla and Elf DJ are on their reading break now.

They are reading books about.....Santa Claus!!!

Elf Cierra and Elf Mikey are on their reading break now.

Santa wants all of his elves to be good readers and to have a good education. Santa says there is more to life than just making toys.

Many elves have written their own books...especially about Santa.

How do you think we know so much about Santa????

Christmas Eve

Sleigh Duty

Elf Rachel, Elf Hannah and Elf Raelee have sleigh duty. They have to make sure the sleigh is clean and polished for Santa to ride on Christmas Eve.

Santa and Donner are taking it for a test spin.

Christmas is tonight!

Personal Assistant

It is finally Christmas Eve.

Elf Kaitlin has the honor of helping Santa with getting ready. She makes sure he has everything he needs and his boots are shined!

All of the elves look forward to their turn at helping Santa get ready for Christmas Eve...the most important night of the year!

No matter how many times you have seen it...it is always exciting to see Santa in his Santa suit.

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night.
